Brunei
I would love to say i enjoyed brunei but sad to say i dreaded it the moment i started started survival phase.
I did not really mentally prepare myself for how the survival phase would be, since its just a one off thing, just wanted to get it over and done with. At first i thought i was going to enjoy it but the jungle owned me. I was lost at first because i could not find a site for myself. Even so, we had to find vines or rattan tree to tie up the logs. Cutting rattans into smaller more bendable pieces is a chore. Lucky for me, I had a great buddy in my group. We helped each other build the required stuffs, in fact, he helped me more than I did. If not for him, i think i would not have passed.
Every night, all 4 of us would gather together into uncle Toh "house" and basically spend our time cooking and talking about food, cravings, and everything under the sun and the moon. I guess the most memorable and miserable would have to be the second night when it rained 3 times. Luckily, we had build a roof but still there were leaks and squeezing 4 pple into the "house" doesnt make it better. That was one of the longest night, i was shivering and biting my teeth, praying and hoping for the sun's warmth the next morning.
Finally, survival phase ended, the familiar sound of extrication, boats and buses, we are back to civilisation. Suddenly, everything appeared heavenly, just the sight of real buildings brightened up everyone. Im so glad its over.
